What the Pandemic did NOT Prove

Did the pandemic prove that an organization can be productive even when all staff work from home?  No.  It did not.  The pandemic showed that we could deliver results remotely with a staff who:

  • Already had established relationships with one another

  • Were keenly aware of their specific roles and responsibilities as well as those of their colleagues

  • Already had a shared understanding of the work culture and norms

I’m all for a hybrid work week or whatever model an organization decides best for the work and for its employees.  So the question is: regardless of the model, how will you ensure that the above 3 things stay strong?  Holding periodic retreats is one piece of the puzzle.
